Business services sector leases 380,000 sq m of office space outside Warsaw

In 2015 companies from the industry leased 380,000 sq m of office space which accounted for 56% of overall demand on major markets outside Warsaw.

Warsaw, 8 March 2016 – Advisory company JLL analyzed the activity of tenants from the business services sector in 2015 on major office markets outside Warsaw. [1]

This equates to 56% of office demand registered in the regional markets. Companies from this industry have maintained their high pace of development. Business services centers continue to acquire new clients, expand the scope of provided services through increasingly advanced processes and in turn employ new specialists. As a result of office lease agreements renewals, new deals and expansions, business services centers are driving the development of office markets, especially outside Warsaw”.

Mateusz Polkowski, JLLMateusz Polkowski, Associate Director, Research and Consulting at JLL, says: “The largest amount of office space – ca. 155,000 sq m - was leased last year by the business services sector in Kraków, followed by Wrocław with 92,000 sq m. The sector's share in overall demand in selected cities was led by Wrocław with 72%, followed by Kraków with 68% and Tri-City – 57%.”

According to ABSL, business services centers with foreign capital employ ca. 150,000 people in Poland and this number continues to grow. Kraków occupies the leading position in terms of employment in the sector (35,700 specialists), followed by Warsaw (27,000), Wrocław (23,700), Tri-City (13,700), Łódź (13,100), Katowice Agglomeration (11,200) and Poznań (9,000).

The share of business services centres with foreign capital in overall occupied office space in regional cities totals around 51% in Kraków, 46% in Łódź and 39% in Wrocław.
