RWE Renewables with new headquarters at Warsaw UNIT

The Group of tenants in the 202-square-metre Warsaw UNIT office building has expanded. This autumn, RWE Renewables – a leading investor in renewable energy sources in Poland – will open its office on the 22nd floor of the skyscraper at Rondo Daszyńskiego.

RWE Renewables will arrange a space of almost 1,600 sq m for its new office at Warsaw UNIT. The lease agreement with Ghelamco, the investor and owner of the building, has been signed for five years.

"Top-class offices, realized in accordance with ESG, attract international companies, for which - as for Ghelamco - issues connected with environmental care and well-being of employees are fundamental. I want to congratulate RWE Renewables group for choosing Warsaw UNIT, which is now one of the most energy-efficient, low-emission, and technologically advanced office buildings in this part of Europe," says Jarosław Zagórski, Managing Director, Ghelamco Poland.

"As a company that is intensively driving the expansion of renewable energies in Poland, we are pleased that we will be moving into this environmentally friendly and yet modern building. The fact that Warsaw UNIT is powered 100% by green electricity was the key factor in our decision," says Robert Macias, Member of the Board, RWE Renewables Polska Sp. z o.o.

RWE Renewables is a leading strategic investor in renewable energy sources. The company develops, constructs and operates onshore and offshore wind and solar farms. The Group has been operating in Poland since 2007, during which time it has become one of the market leaders. The national team currently consists of nearly 200 highly qualified employees located in several offices in Poland, including Szczecin, Gdynia, Słupsk, Inowrocław, Rzeszów, Łódź and Warsaw.

ITRA Polska supported RWE Renewables in the process of leasing office space at Warsaw UNT.

“Dynamically developing companies such as RWE need an attractive place to work that adapt to their teams’ needs. The new RWE office enables flexible arrangement of space, conducive to spending valuable time with colleagues. Employees can use the building's numerous amenities, and the proximity of the metro station is also a great advantage,” says Martyna Balcer, COO, Associate Director, ITRA Polska.

Ultramodern and energy-efficient Warsaw UNIT

With 59,000 sq m of first-class office space, Warsaw UNIT is Poland's most environmentally friendly and technologically advanced skyscraper, ideally in line with the ESG strategy of Ghelamco and its tenants. The building was the first in the country to receive WELL Core certification at the Platinum level and the first high-rise to earn a BREEAM certificate with the highest possible Outstanding rating. Its sustainability is also confirmed by certification in the WELL Health-Safety Rating, WELL v2 (pre-certification), Green Standard Building and "Barrier-Free Facility" systems.

Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art energy-saving systems, such as the Building Energy Management System, among others, the average energy consumption of Warsaw UNIT is nearly 30% lower than in comparable high-rise buildings of this type. The office building will be the first skyscraper in Poland powered by 100% clean electricity, derived from the developer's photovoltaic farms. Thanks to its use, CO2 emissions over the building's entire life cycle will be reduced by more than 50%, and in terms of utility consumption, by as much as over 70%.

Warsaw UNIT features Ghelamco's proprietary Signal OS operating system with its own application, which gives tenants and managers many options, including active participation in the process of sustainable management of utilities. The office building also uses anti-pandemic solutions, including virucidal UV lamps in lifts and ventilation systems.

Ghelamco's project stands out with its elegant, timeless architecture and original solutions, such as the kinetic "dragon skin" facade waving in the wind or Skyfall Warsaw – a sky-high, fully glazed observation deck with a falling floor, providing an unforgettable experience to the guests.
