AstraZeneca renews lease at Postepu 14 and takes additional space

Warsaw, 28th March 2017 — AstraZeneca, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, has renewed its lease of nearly 7,000 sq m and taken an additional 6,200 sq m at Postępu 14, an office building in Warsaw developed by HB Reavis. JLL experts represented AstraZeneca throughout the lease negotiation process.

AstraZeneca has operated in Poland for 25 years. The company is among the pharmaceutical industry innovative leaders, with its core business being discovery and market introduction of medicines in specialties: oncology, pulmonology, cardiology and diabetology. AstraZeneca medications are available in over 100 countries worldwide. Globally the company employs over 50,000 people, with over 700 working in Poland.

“At AstraZeneca, employees are our greatest asset, which is why we decided to relocate to Postępu 14 two years ago, as this location offered us the best conditions to build a modern and employee-friendly office. The previous year proved that we made the right choice. This fact gains in importance in the context of the further growth of our organisation in Poland, with the plan to create new attractive workplaces and, consequently, double the space we lease in order to ensure an innovative working environment. These plans are undoubtedly furthered by the building’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and optimal location in the district of Mokotów,” says Andrzej Pelczarski, Hub Manager at AstraZeneca.

This is yet another lease agreement signed by AstraZeneca with JLL’s assistance.

Jakub Sylwestrowicz, JLL

“The agreement will be one of the largest office lease transactions signed outside the Warsaw business centre this year. Although real estate developers have shifted their focus to other areas of Warsaw, in particular the fringe of the city centre and the area of Jerozolimskie Avenue, Mokotów remains an attractive location for business, as shown by the latest lease renewal and expansion signed by AstraZeneca at the HB Reavis office building”, says Jakub Sylwestrowicz, Head of Tenant Representation at JLL.

“We are very pleased that AstraZeneca appreciates the facilities at Postępu 14. The expansion and lease renewal demonstrates that high quality office space there remains attractive to tenants and well-managed buildings with a wide range of amenities enhance the comfort of their workplace,” says Sylwia Piechnik, Senior Leasing Manager at HB Reavis Poland.

Postępu 14 offers 34,500 sq m of modern office space on ten storeys and is located at the corner of Marynarska Street and Postepu Street in Warsaw. Professionals working at the building enjoy excellent access to public transport, Warsaw Chopin Airport and the Warsaw ring road. The building is certified with an “Excellent” BREEAM rating and is equipped with energy saving features such as electric vehicle charging stations and energy efficient high-speed lifts. In addition, the building offers excellent cycling facilities including bicycle stands and showers, encouraging people working in the building to cycle to work. Postępu 14 also provides a wide range of services such as a canteen, coffee shop, a grocery store and a chemist.
