The demolition of the over thirty-year-old Ilmet office building, standing 83 meters tall and located at Rondo ONZ, is underway in central Warsaw. This building, constructed in 1997 by an Austrian company, stood empty for a decade and no longer met modern office standards. The distinctive postmodern structure with 22 above-ground floors offered over 32 thousand square meters of space, but was no longer utilizing the potential of its attractive location near the metro station.
Currently, demolition work is focused on dismantling the interior of Ilmet—equipment and installations are being removed. The actual demolition of the structure will begin only in the next phase. The investor already has a permit to construct a new Warsaw One building on this site, reaching 188 meters in height, which will offer approximately 60 thousand square meters of office space.
The new Warsaw One tower is planned as a glazed, three-tiered building meeting the highest environmental standards, including green certifications. The architectural design is being prepared by a renowned firm, and the planned structure will become one of the taller office buildings in the capital. The creation of this modern skyscraper aims to better utilize the attractive location in the very heart of the city.
